This design-build project bundle is fully funded by SMART SCALE and will provide multimodal, safety and traffic flow improvements at five locations in Culpeper County and the Town of Culpeper.

1. Route 15 Business (Orange Road) at Route 3/522 (Germanna Highway) single-lane roundabout and sidewalks
This improvement at the Orange Road and Germanna Highway intersection in the Town of Culpeper will convert the existing signalized intersection into a single-lane roundabout. This project also extends pedestrian facilities along the east side of Orange Road between Standpipe Road and East Street and then will continue along Germanna Highway to Madison Road.

2. Route 15/29 Business (Brandy Road) at Route 694 (Ira Hoffman Lane) hybrid roundabout
This project will reconstruct the existing signalized intersection of Brandy Road and Ira Hoffman Lane as a hybrid roundabout. With this project in the Town of Culpeper, a shared-use path will be constructed along the north side of Brandy Road and sidewalk along the south side, between the Dominion Square traffic signal and the existing sidewalk to the east of the intersection.

3. Route 229 (Rixeyville Road) at Route 621 (Jeffersonton Road/Colvin Road) single-lane roundabout
This safety improvement involves reconstructing the existing signalized intersection of Route 229 and Route 621 in Culpeper County as a single-lane roundabout.

4. Route 229 (Rixeyville Road) at Route 694 (Ira Hoffman Lane) hybrid roundabout
With this improvement, the existing signalized intersection of Rixeyville Road and Ira Hoffman Lane in Culpeper County will be reconstructed as a hybrid roundabout. This project also relocates and improves the existing shared-use path on the southeast quadrant of the intersection.

5. Old Brandy Road sidewalk extension
This project will enhance pedestrian connectivity by extending Old Brandy Road by approximately 1,900 linear feet to connect with Culpeper War Memorial Park and Route 15/29 Business (James Madison Highway) in the Town of Culpeper.
