The Music Therapist conducts individual and group music therapy with residents of Village. Provides the appropriate application of clinical interventions related to music therapy. Conducts initial assessments and review of each case assigned to music therapy. Documents treatment interventions and results in medical record on a timely basis. Assist with the appropriate and ongoing training of direct care staff when requested. Participates in the multi-disciplinary case conference meetings and coordinates ongoing treatment as a part of the teams. Attend to resident, families, and referral source concerns as well as providing timely reports on treatment obstacles and progress.
|Possess a B.A. or B.S. Degree in a behavioral health field from an accredited college or university with a minimum of two years of experience with inpatient, outpatient, and/or mental health care in the area of child and/or adolescent treatment along with a thorough knowledge of emotionally disturbed children and adolescents; Must be board certified at hire or working toward certification; Must have strong interpersonal skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills; Must have at least intermediate level PC skills; Must successfully complete all new hire orientation and training requirements; Must possess a valid driver’s license; Must be current on all mandatory annual retraining and in-services.|
